Empowering Youth. Strengthening Communities.
Hood Works Inc. is a community-based nonprofit organization located in South Jamaica, Queens. Our mission is to empower underserved youth and families through mentorship, education, community engagement, and violence prevention initiatives. We provide safe, supportive spaces where young people can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and access life-changing opportunities.
Key Programs and Initiatives:
Youth Empowerment & Support (YES) Program: – Offers mentorship, academic assistance, life skills training, and career development workshops for youth ages 10–24.

Workshops & Seminars: – We host year-round events on topics including financial literacy, alternatives to violence, health and wellness, and civic engagement.
AVP Conflict Resolution Workshops: – A youth-centered conflict resolution workshop in partnership with the Youth Alternatives to Incarceration (YATI), a youth-focused adaptation of the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP). This workshop aims to equip youth with tools for effective communication, emotional regulation, and nonviolent problem-solving.
